Ah, Jane, Jane, you've done it again!
She's probably more of a celebrity author now than when she walked her small patch of Hampshire, Britain, over 200 years ago. 21st century readers can't seem to get enough of her Regency Era social pecking order, her clever romances, her elegantly delivered insults, and her ruthless social commentary. No doubt millions of future fans will sit back to ponder the rich depth beneath her bubbly style for centuries to come.
What a tragedy that she died so needlessly premature, whatever her condition happened to be. I know there are several possibilities, but they would probably all respond well to modern medical treatment. Here is my tribute page of Jane Austen reviews, articles and other thoughts. I'll keep adding to it.
