Fictional Spiritual Classics

Here is a new page I'm so looking forward to updating. Hopefully it'll offer some powerful food for thought. Perhaps completing my recent Graduate Diploma of Divinity has whet my appetite for more of this sort of reading, minus the assignments.

Initially I planned to include all texts which are considered spiritual classics, but instead I've decided to focus on those which come in the form of fiction. Those non-fiction texts get so much love as it is, and my passion is for storytelling, which might sometimes slide under people's radars.

What's more, although I identify strongly with the Christian tradition, I've decided to broaden my scope when it comes to spiritual classics. Our brothers and sisters of other faiths must surely add depth to our headspaces.

I'm counting on it, so here goes.

Babette's Feast by Isak Dinesan

The Big Fisherman by Lloyd C. Douglas

The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky

Franny and Zooey by J. D. Salinger

The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

The Narnia Chronicles by C. S. Lewis

The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

The Silver Chalice by Thomas B. Costain

Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis
